Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation, a nonprofit organization supports work in the areas of health, education and livelihood. The Foundation intends to recognize and grant awards to selected Organisations and Individuals who are involved in Tobacco Control and support them to continue their good work in future. As a step towards this the Foundation is pleased to announce two categories of grants / awards:
Grant for NGOs involved in Tobacco Control - This grant would be awarded to organisations on the basis of the excellence and effectiveness of their activities related to Tobacco Control. As a part of this grant an NGO which is involved in Tobacco Control is expected to submit a proposal on implementation of a Program on Tobacco Control. The selected organizations will be provided a grant support of Rs. Five Lakhs to design and implement a Tobacco Control Program. The grant period will be for one year.
Award for Individuals involved in Tobacco Control - Individuals with demonstrated work experience in area of tobacco control can apply for this award. A cash award of Rs. One Lakh will be provided to selected candidates.
Organizational and Individual initiatives in the following areas will be considered for the selection process:
- Capacity Building
- Community mobilization
- Policy level advocacy
Three NGO’s and Five Individuals will be selected for these awards.
