Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust
With a special focus on health, education and vocational skills development, the Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust has been working towards relief and rehabilitation of children with disability since it was registered under the Charitable Trusts Act in 1981.
The Amar Jyoti School is best known for its inclusive education program. Of the 450 students attending the school, 50% have a disability. Strikingly, the school is completely barrier free. Children with orthopaedic, mental, visual and hearing disabilities can access all corners of the specially structured, 4 storied building.
The school is a true example of inclusive education - able-bodied and disabled children play and learn alongside one another, using the same facilities. This design has been shown to work on many levels. Able-bodied children are sensitised to the needs of others, while their disabled peers develop confidence.
The Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation supported an Inter Country Meeting on "Promotion of Inclusivity in Education, Employment, Health & Well Being of Persons with Disability in the South-East Asia Region", organized by Amar Jyoti in Delhi.
The Foundation supports Amar jyoti charitable trust to facilitate a comprehensive rehabilitation process for persons with disability and demonstrate a model for community based rehabilitation. The program is being implemented in 22 slum pockets in Delhi.

MASUM aims to improve the health of women and adolescents in Purandar Taluka.
The Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation has supported a program which develops integral areas of women's health, such as early detection and treatment of RTIs and cervical cancer, detection and management of uterine prolapse and intervention to reduce anaemia. The program also works to develop key life skills among adolescents, such as reproductive health rights.

PMNCH with its partners has worked out a new 2012-15 Strategy and Work plan which will provide the necessary direction to the work of The Partnership and its Partners, identify areas to focus efforts and resources, and guide interactions with other initiatives globally, regionally and nationally. A short summary of the framework is available on: Summary of the Draft 2012-15 Strategic Framework Outline.

PMNCH joins the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Communities into an alliance of more than 350 members to ensure that all women, infants and children not only remain healthy, but thrive.
The Partnership is fast responding to the rapidly changing global health demands, mobilizing its base of members and partners to accelerate progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) 4 and 5. The Partnership's Three-year Strategy and Work plan for 2009-2011 outlined the following key objectives:
2. Harmonizing and scaling up coverage rates of effective essential interventions
3. Improving and enhancing leadership and governance in maternal, newborn and child health.
The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health supported and facilitated the development of the "Global Strategy for Women's and Children's Health" launched by the United Nations Secretary General on the 22nd of September 2010, in New York, during the High-Level UN MDGs Summit.
Leaders from government, international organizations, business, academia, philanthropy, health professional associations and civil society worked together to develop this strategy, recognizing that the health of women and children is key to progress on all development goals. To transform these commitments into action, on the 12-14 of November 2010, The Partnership convened in New Delhi, hosted by the Government of India, the second forum of Partners, entitled From Pledges to Actions.
