Sree Vidya Niketan Trust, Chaitanya School
Chaitanya is Co-educational English Medium School established in Gandhinagar by the Sree Vidya Niketan Trust (SVNT), a charitable organization registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act 1950. The trust is committed to the partnership with children, parents and community and supports investment in good education and training infrastructure.
In Chaitanya School, the child would not be a passive recipient of information but an active and constructive participant in the learning process – a process that encourages and triggers critical thinking, imagination, creativity, self esteem and self direction towards purposeful activities. To achieve this objective it seeks to adopt modern and scientific methods of teaching that motivates all children to envision new possibilities and inspire them to learn. With a teacher Student ratio 1:20, every child will get individual attention and will be allowed to learn at his own pace.
The Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation enabled SVNT to set up the Learning Resource Centre for the students of the Chaitanya School and the Financial Assistance Programme for the indigent students.

Prabhat Education Alternative
The Prabhat Education Foundation is the outcome of efforts to serve children with special needs in Ahmedabad which began in 2003 through exposure to those with learning difficulties struggling within mainstream schools. A Prabhat centre opened in the Maninagar area (East Ahmedabad) in 2007, in response to a survey conducted with communities and local activists. Basic services began of counseling, assessment, education, therapy and contact with specialists. Starting with one child in 2007, almost 100 children now attend the centres. Support to other children, homes and communities are offered through outreach and advocacy efforts. Partnerships with municipal and other schools have followed to support the national effort toward the rights of special children to be recognized and served within the mainstream.
Today, Prabhat works in 3 major areas: services and facilities through its life-skills programme at the two Prabhat Centres (eastern and western Ahmedabad), the Community-Based Rehabilitation Programme (CBR) serving children, families and communities who cannot access the centres for problems of mobility or awareness, and Advocacy through networking and partnerships to help strengthen each of these services and create a more enabling environment for special children in society.
The Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation supports the community and the advocacy programmes of the Prabhat Education Alternative.
